Jennifer maintains compliance with the continuing education and other requirements set forth by the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) Board and Illinois Department of Professional Regulators. In addition, Jennifer is a member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), the largest organization of fee-only planners. As a NAPFA member, Jennifer must adhere to demanding practice requirements and has a fiduciary duty to her clients. Jennifer served as the Chair and President for the Midwest Regional Board of Directors for NAPFA.
Jennifer attended the University of Illinois in Champaign/ Urbana from which she graduated with High Honors and a Bachelors of Science degree in Accountancy. In 1994, she passed the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Exam in Illinois and began working for Arthur Andersen LLP in Chicago. While at Andersen, Jennifer was assigned to challenging public and private companies as an experienced audit manager.
In 2002, Jennifer began a career in personal financial planning. She completed the required coursework and passed the comprehensive Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) Exam. Jennifer adopted a Fee-Only financial planning philosophy so that she can be objective in providing advice to her clients.
Jennifer also maintains a personal income tax preparation business. She believes that her CPA registration and income tax preparation skills enhance her abilities as a financial planner.
Jennifer resides in Naperville with her husband and three sons. Jennifer served on the Board of Trustees for NAPFA's Consumer Education Foundation, the purpose of which is to provide pro bono financial advice and education. She has assisted under-privileged individuals complete their income tax returns through an organized tax assistance program and participated in the NAPFA Money Bus volunteer program. In 2010, Jennifer helped raise charitable funding to fight breast cancer and completed the 39.3 mile Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in Chicago.
